Dr. Erica Jacquay joined the Midway University faculty in the fall of 2024, transitioning from her role as an adjunct instructor for both online and in-person equine courses. Her teaching experience spans from introductory classes to advanced topics such as training horses under saddle and hands-on reproductive management. Her research interests are on practical application to the equine industry and horse welfare, focusing on the stress responses of horses to common events like transportation and weaning.

Dr. Jacquay’s equine career began as a pony club member and competing in eventing with her OTTB (Off-the-track Thoroughbred). She has since gained experience across various sectors of the industry, including working on AQHA (American Quarter Horse Association) and warmblood breeding farms, as a young horse trainer, FEI (Fédération Équestre Internationale) eventing groom, and in an equine veterinary diagnostic laboratory. Her diverse background makes her an excellent resource for students seeking part-time jobs and internships locally and abroad.
